CINEMA RELEASE AT THE PIGHOUSE FLICKS BYRON BAY

Back by popular demand… ‘El Mar, Mi Alma’ now has cinema release at the Pighouse Flicks aka Byron lounge cinema. With a brand new state of the art Christie DCI Projector and luxurious new seating, come and enjoy the cinematic experience at Byron’s favourite venue for quality arthouse, foreign and classic films.  Screenings; Saturday 14th April 7.00pm, Monday 16th April 4.30pm, Thursday 26th April 8.30pm, Saturday 28th April 8.30pm. MELBOURNE - ACMI

The final screening of our Australian tour was held at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square. A capacity crowd were charmed by the General Consul of Chile Diego Velasco and his introductory speech. Diego spoke of his fondness for the film, its beauty, and its philosophy and relevance, not only to Chile but Australia and the rest of the world. The screening concluded with drinks and discussion followed by a late night dinner Melbourne style… Chilean style too! YALLINGUP SURF FILM FESTIVAL 2012 (Winner-Best Cinematography)

Before wrapping up our Australian Tour the crew at ‘Yallingup Surf Film Festival’ hosted our WA premiere headlining the Friday-opening night in a truly wonderful outdoor setting at Clancy’s Fish Pub-Dunsborough. Sharing yummy local wines and seafood with fellow filmmakers and legendary surfing personalities, enjoying pristine bays and beaches of the region.. a very special weekend. ADELAIDE - MERCURY CINEMA

Home to one of Australia’s best 4K projection facilities and art house films a plenty, the Mercury Cinema. Adelaide may not be a surfing mecca, nevertheless plenty of surfers and non surfers alike turned out for the show, including proud expats thrilled to see Chile on the big screen. Then there were the Swiss guys who missed our Manly show but made sure to catch us down the line on their travels, stoked! DROPPING IN ON GERRY WEDD

On a day trip out of Adelaide with our friend James Brown we paid a visit to the sweet seaside village of Port Elliot. We caught up with renowned ceramicist Gerry Wedd and checked out his studio and ceramic creations. Love your work Gerry! Photos: Stephen Jones.

TORQUAY - SURF WORLD MUSEUM

It was a pleasure to screen amongst the artefacts and memorabilia at Surf World Torquay, a fantastic museum rich in surfing history. A fine display of Mark Richards Aipa stingers in immaculate condition arrived that weekend. Nice to examine these treasures at close hand. ULLADULLA - ARCADIA CINEMAS

The Ulladulla region, an awesome stretch of coast blessed with quality surf breaks, a favourable stop on tour. Huge thanks to Mark Rabbidge and Pam Burridge for putting us up and to Garth Dickenson from Pilgrims Cafe for the pre screening nibbles. Beneath the sandstone escarpment in the townsnip of Bulli the character filled Heritage Hotel played host to our Illawarra screening.
